Here’s the info we have:
What: Fountain housing ready to be installed at the bottom of the Kusum Sarovara lake (formerly known as Swan Lake & Kaliya Ghat).
You can see the fountain head sitting on the ground to the left. Marudeva, Danakeli, and others from the Metal Shop department built the base you see to the right. Thus its “homemade” appearance. Note the water intake with the corrugated metal pipe surrounded by a screened box which acted as a filter.
For a number of years throughout the 1980s, this large fountain ran every hour or so during the pilgrim/tourist season. It was intended to be part of a larger than life diorama showcasing Lord Krishna dancing on the heads of Kaliya set in the middle of the lake (hence the original name, Kaliya Ghat).
When: Summer, 1984.
