Improvements to Radha Vrindaban Chandra’s Worship

Dear Devotees of New Vrindaban Community,

This is a short note to inform everyone of a couple of improvements in the worship of our beloved Radha Vrindaban Chandra, Gaura Nitai, Nathaji, Jagannath, Baladeva, Subhadra and Lord Nrsimhadeva.

1. We are now closing the curtains and altar doors during bhoga offerings to facilitate the Lord’s enjoying His meals in privacy. The only exception is the breakfast offering so as not to disrupt the Bhagavatam class.

2. As of February 1, the Lord will also be offered an afternoon rest period as is standard practice instituted by Srila Prabhupada and our acaryas. This means that the altars will be closed from 1:00-4:00 pm Monday-Friday. In line with Srila Prabhupada’s concession in this regard (reference available on request), on weekends and major festival days the Lord will remain awake to allow the large numbers of pilgrims who come on those days the benediction of His darshan.

These improvements have been introduced in collaboration with ISKCON’s Deity Worship Ministry, New Vrindaban Board, and the Congregational Development Department.

We hope increasing the standard of worship in this way will please Sri Sri Radha Vrindaban Chandra, the foundation and focal point of the community, and thereby the auspiciousness of New Vrindaban Dham will automatically increase.

Hare Krishna.
